Who can egg donation help? With our expertise in egg donation we can help all women, who have no more healthy eggs left, to get pregnant and have own children through egg donation. It does not matter whether you have regular or irregular menstrual cycle or are even in the menopause – the chance of getting pregnant does not depend on this.
Success of egg donation treatment depends on 3 factors: the age of the egg donor, the quality of the embryo and the preparation of the uterine lining, which we are experts in.
There are just two main requirements to potential recipient of egg donation treatment: the uterus should be in place and should not be severely damaged and your state of general health has to be good.

Who can egg donation help?
Egg donation can help women in the menopause to have a healthy baby of their own
Even in menopause women can conceive and give birth to a child through egg donation after hormonal pre-treatment
Not being able to have a baby can be one of the most distressing problems caused by menopause. Women in menopause have lost their reserve of eggs and are no longer able to have children using own eggs. Nonetheless, women in menopause still have a womb that is able to conceive and bear a child after certain hormonal pre-treatment. At our clinic we focus on individual and efficient medication protocol for every recipient so that we achieve healthy live birth at the soonest time line. We know how long awaited these children are and will design the shortest and the most efficient egg donation treatment process for you. We welcome women until their 51st Birthday, whether married in relationship or single. Most important your general health is good and your uterus is in place.

Egg donation can help patients with repeated IVF failures in the past to have own child at the soonest time line
Even if IVF with own eggs didn’t work egg donation can help you have your own baby
IVF and other fertility procedures enable many women to have children. We have very high success rates in IVF with own eggs, however if we have not managed to achieve live birth after 4 IVF attempts in our patient group of women under the age of 42 we recommend to consider egg donation. The chance of achieving live birth is low if continuing with own egg IVF treatment after 4 unsuccessful IVF cycles with own eggs.
Usually after the age of 42 we strongly recommend egg donation, independent of previous fertility history. We base our recommendation on the fact, that after the age of 42 the majority of the eggs left in ovaries, have abnormal chromosome amount and cannot create a healthy baby

Egg donation can help women in advanced reproductive age to have own biological children (even if from donated genetic material)
Even if own egg number or quality decreases through the age healthy donor eggs can give realistic options for creating a pregnancy
The quality of human egg cells rapidly declines with age. Already at the age of 35 half of the eggs have abnormal chromosome count. In the age of 40 only one third of eggs will have normal chromosome count. Abnormal amount of chromosomes in the embryo is lethal, these embryos usually do not result in live birth. Down syndrome babies are one of the few special cases where embryos with abnormal chromosome count have progressed to live birth.
In the age of 43 and higher there are almost no normal eggs left.
Even if with age own egg number or quality has decreased and it will be impossible to reverse these time- and age related issues, however, healthy donor eggs can give realistic options for creating a pregnancy.
Egg donation provides women in the age of 43+ with the greatest chance of having a healthy child.

Can egg donation help reduce the risk of Down’s syndrome?
The risk of Down syndrome is not affected by the age of the recipient, but by that of the donor
Egg donation can help to significantly reduce the risk of Down syndrome in women of advanced reproductive age. The possibility of naturally conceiving a baby with Down’s syndrome is substantially higher as women get older. Egg donation can be a safer way for women over the age of 41-42 to avoid this issue.
The risk of Down syndrome is not effected by the age of the recipient, but by that of the donor. All egg donors at our clinic are aged under 30 and are most commonly only 26 years old. Hence the risk of Down syndrome in donor egg baby is significantly lower than population level and very much lower than in older women using their own eggs.
Egg donation can help women-carries of genetic diseases to have healthy children
Even if you are not the genetic mother of the child you are the biological mother and are the main influence on what this baby will become
Egg donation can be a choice for women who have high risk of passing a genetic condition on to a child. If genetic testing of embryos is not possible, egg donation can ensure that this does not happen.
The donated egg provides 50% of genetic material of your future baby. However, it is known at every moment of human development only 5% of genes are ‘switched on’ the rest are inactive. Whether the gene is active or silent depends entirely on environment. It is the biological mothers’ body that chooses which of these genes are switched on and off.
Even if you are not the genetic mother of the child you are the biological mother and are the main influence on what this baby will become.
