In early 2016, Maria Jeffs joined our team as a patient co-ordinator based in our London office where her main focus is our Swedish patients. Maria is 44 years old, married with three children and is bilingual Swedish-English. Although born in Sweden, she now lives just outside of London. She has two degrees from the Mid-Sweden University; a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics plus a Bachelor of Science in Education.
“I understand that before choosing fertility treatment abroad there are many questions to ask and a lot of worrying thoughts. You might ask yourself if you will be able to understand the staff and will they be able to understand you? How does the visa process work? Where to stay? How about medication? The list goes on. My role as a patient co-ordinator is to help, support and reassure my patients every step of the way so that the journey to parenthood becomes a much easier and less stressful one.
I have spent most of my adult life travelling and working abroad which has given me genuine experience of multicultural environments, which in itself is helpful in my role as a patient co-ordinator. I love working with people and being able to use my first language Swedish on a daily basis. Being bilingual I can ensure that there are no language barriers and that my patients feel confident and comfortable. Our clinic is a very friendly and happy place and we always do our utmost to help our patients achieve their goal of a healthy baby.”
